Important things to know before installing an update.

Before your fingers get into a wild frenzy looking for that install update button there are a few important things to know.

  1. The update WILL only alter the original PARENT theme files and pass-through to any CHILD themes you have set up.
  2. The update WILL NOT overwrite any modified module, files, etc. in your CHILD theme.
  3. The update WILL NOT alter any CLONED versions of the theme in your account.
  4. Always review the release notes first: https://www.clean.pro/release-notes

When to proceed with caution before an update.

If you haven't installed a theme update for a long time or perhaps you're new to the team and unsure when the last theme update was installed, here is a good way to check on the current theme version you're using. 

  1. Go to the Design Manager in HubSpot
  2. Open up the @markeplace folder / Helpful_Hero / CLEAN-6-1-THEME
  3. Open the theme.json file

There you will see the version number.

Compare your version to what you're about to update too. 

Big version leaps like jumping from v30 -> v92 should be taken with caution. Ensure you've read all the release notes and look for any important actions you may need to take.

Small version jumps like going from v85 -> v92 should be very smooth sailing. Should anything go bonkers after installing an update, just contact HubSpot support. They can very easily roll you back to the last version you were on.

How exactly do I install the update?

Simple. Go to your Content Settings and click the Marketplace & Downloads link in the sidebar. You'll see the list of your marketplace assets and a button that says Install update.
